Supplements “The 5 Must Haves”

Supplements are probably part of just about any healthy fitness lifestyle. Here is a list of five must-have recommended  supplements.

#1 – Multi-Vitamins

It’s vital that we get all of the vitamins and minerals that our bodies require. If possible, it’s best to get these through our foods. It can be difficult to meet all of your daily requirements that way though. That’s where a good multi-vitamin comes in. You get what you pay for. Good vitamins are going to be more expensive, but your body will actually absorb them. Poor quality vitamins just end up being flushed down the toilet–literally.

#2 – Protein

Protein is broken down in the body to form amino acids. These amino acids are the building blocks for our bodies. They are what feeds muscle growth when stimulated.

#3 – Branched Chain Amino Acids

Also known as BCAA’s, these are the essential amino acids required for muscle growth. BCAA’s are perfect for anybody that is not getting enough, or any, of their protein from lean meats, such as chicken or beef.

#4 – Fish Oil

Omega-3 fatty acids have a lot of health benefits, ranging from reducing the risk of heart attack and coronary heart disease to combating depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

#5 – Coffee

There have been a few studies done  that show that the power of coffee, in moderation, can help avoid Type 2 Diabetes, stroke, heart issues, etc. That’s all great, but as a pre-workout drink, the caffeine will help you get energized for a hard session of training.
